As a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry Dr. Patel is involved in training junior dentists both at a foundation level (within 2 years of qualifying) and at a higher level (those training to become a consultant/specialist). He is both an educational and clinical supervisor to the trainees.
Dr. Patel has an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer position within the university faculty and is a core member of the postgraduate implant teaching clinic. This involves supervising approximately 15-20 postgraduates trainees in Prosthodontics and periodontics, in surgical and prosthodontics aspects of implant dentistry on a weekly basis.
Dr. Patel also runs didactic teaching sessions for the postgraduate students on the Master programme in Endodontics.
Dr. Patel is a registered ITI Fellow, speaker and a member of the teaching faculty for the foundation course in implant dentistry. He runs a session with other colleagues on implant placement in the aesthetic zone outlining the basic principles for beginners.Link to the brochure
Dr. Patel has set up an advanced masterclass in dental implants with other faculty members from QMUL and The Royal London Dental Hopsital. This course is aimed at more experienced clinicians aiming to enhance their skills in placing implants in the aesthetic zone.Link to the brochure
